The common thread across your list

The majors you picked — Forest Science, Freshwater Science, Biology, Environmental Biology, Environmental Science & Resource Management, Fisheries/Wildlife/Conservation, Forest Ecology, Integrative Biology — look different on paper, but they all point the same direction: the field-based biology of whole living things and whole ecosystems. Plants and animals together, studied to understand and protect the natural world — not the lab-bench, medical, or molecular side of biology.

Your two limits actually sharpen that focus in a helpful way. “No dissections or animal testing” steers you away from the vertebrate-anatomy and biomedical corners of a biology degree and toward ecology, botany, freshwater, and conservation courses — where the hands-on work is field sampling, identifying species, and monitoring habitats, not scalpels. “Marine, but not on a boat in the open ocean” doesn’t rule marine life out at all; it points you to freshwater, wetlands, shorelines and tide pools, and lab or aquarium work — which is exactly where your UBC Okanagan Freshwater Science pick already lives.

Where they land

The sweet spot: best fit and lowest cost

Because you’ll be a Canadian citizen, the three BC schools are both the best-fitting and the cheapest on your list — a rare combination. UBC Okanagan (freshwater, and dissection-free by default), Victoria (the lowest all-in cost, strong biology depth), and UBC Vancouver (forest, plant, and wildlife ecology) all land here.

Your in-state anchors

UW is a genuinely top-tier wildlife/ESRM program at in-state price — your strongest “safe” option. Washington State is a clean forest-ecology fit, also at in-state price. Both are excellent value without leaving home.

Great fit, but weigh the price or the catch

Oregon State gives you huge fisheries/wildlife breadth, but as a non-resident it’s the priciest public here (~$248k over four years) unless a WUE discount comes through. McGill fits your interests beautifully, but its required intro biology includes an invertebrate dissection lab that’s hard to skip — a real thing to weigh against your dealbreaker.

The reach

Harvard has a real plant-sciences and field-ecology path (and dissection is avoidable). Its sticker is the highest on the list, but need-based aid can make it cost less than a public university for a modest-income family. Admission is the long shot, not the fit.
